Detroit Jazz Festival
When: Friday, September 4 through 7
Friday: 5:30 to 11:00 p.m. | Saturday & Sunday: 12:30 to 11:00 p.m. | Monday: 12:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Hart Plaza, Detroit
Watch Grammy-nominated artists and musical supergroups perform at the world’s largest free Jazz fest. The event spans over four days with over 300,000 attendees. You won’t want to miss this annual Motor City tradition!

Blake’s Sunflower Festival
When: Saturday, September 5 through 7
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. | Monday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Where: Blake’s Cider Mill & Orchard, Armada
The Sunflower Festival is back at Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill, featuring products from over 100 artisans, and access to their breathtaking field of sunflowers. Enjoy photo stations, kids’ activities, u-pick, and more!

Birmingham Art Walk
When: Thursday, September 17 | 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Downtown Birmingham
Watch the streets of Birmingham transform into an active art hub, featuring the works of local artists, plus live music performances and themed cocktails at participating restaurants. You may just discover your new favorite artist, or dinner spot.

Water Lantern Festival
When: Saturday, September 19 | 5:00 p.m.
Where: Martindale Beach, Kensington Metropark
Gather on the beach at Kensington Metropark and create a lantern to send off into the water. Release starts at sunset and lantern kits are provided. Designs include letters to a loved one, or messages to manifest your hopes and dreams for an emotional, unforgettable experience.

Michigan Renaissance Festival
When: Weekends during September | 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Starting Location: HollyGrove Village, Holly
Step back in time at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, where you can spend the day exploring a lively 16th-century village filled with costumed characters, live entertainment, artisan shops, food, and plenty of unique activities. Catch the legendary jousting show, where armored knights battle on horseback in an exciting display of skill, speed, and medieval tradition.
